What we do
Insuretro.com has published insurance guides since 2014. Our focus is simple: helping people understand why their insurance costs what it does and what they can realistically do to pay less, without cutting cover they will regret losing.
We are a publisher, not an insurance company or a licensed agent. We don’t sell policies, give personal advice or handle claims. For a quote, a policy change or a claim, contact an insurer or agent directly.
How we research our guides
- Published, checkable data. Prices and trends come from named rate studies (such as CarInsurance.com and Insurify), government sources (such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics and state insurance departments) and insurers’ own published terms. Each guide lists its sources.
- Dated figures. Insurance prices change often, so every guide shows when it was last updated.
- Our own sums are labelled. Where we do arithmetic, such as monthly figures from annual averages, we say so.
- No paid rankings. We don’t publish star ratings or accept payment to rank a company higher.
- Corrections. If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page and we will review it.
How we make money
Insuretro is free to use. Some pages show advertising, and some show a clearly labelled box of sponsored insurance quote listings. We may be paid when you click a listing. This doesn’t change what you pay and doesn’t decide what we write. Read our full advertiser disclosure.
What we cover
We currently publish guides to car insurance, with home, motorcycle, life, health, Medicare and business insurance being added section by section.
